The Cognitive School Of Thought (first school)

Hello it is me again, I would like to share the new information which I had learned from the previous class. It was all about :

   The 1^st school of thought was emerged in the 1960s to figure out “how people think”. The cognitive scientists had contributed with two important ideas which is Information Processing and Meaningful Learning.

Information Processing.

   Information Processing is the process which takes place while we receive and recall the information. The process flow will be attend to the information, recognize, transform, store and retrieve

   The received information will be attend, where we will analyse whether the information is important or not. Meanwhile, some information will be eliminate immediately and the rest will be store in the short-term memory. Short- term memory is where limited information is stored for lesser time. 
      As time goes on the information will be transferred to long-term memory or permanent memory as we often use the information. Information stored in long-term memory will be stored for a longer time compared to the information which has been exposed will be lost due to lack of proper storage and use.

Meaningful Learning.

   Meaningful learning is study which involves how to use new information highly valid organized, structured and it could be used to conduct the teaching and learning process by giving examples,  during problem solving situation and more. It also led to the development of approaches teacher to the student.

   Authentic learning is a suggested learning more towards meaningful and remembered longer knowledge. Rather than using theories to teach, task will give more exposure to do and learn things directly. It is because, by doing task we can improve and build better personal achievement level and self-discovery list can be extended which will led us to willingly remember it.

   Scaffolding is a term where teachers will contribute great solution and explanation when their student is facing problem or need guidance. Scaffolding is more in the direction of learning together. It is because, teachers need gain more and more knowledge so it could be conveyed to their lovable students. Scaffolding also can be injected among students by assigning them with cooperative learning activities.

Problem Solving.

   Problem solving requires a exist situation where targeted goals by the learners need to be achieved and how they are going to obtain it. First of all, learners need to set goals that need to be achieved, so that they will be engaged with it all the time. Second, learners need to identify the obstacles in the way to achieve their goals which will lead to the third step, choose alternative way to achieve goals. 

   Fourth will be the consideration of consequences of each possible solution which shouldn’t be harmful from any perspective. Fifth, the learners need decide how to implement and progress with the chosen way. Last but not the least, learners need to evaluate themselves so, they could identify their strength and weakness which need to be improve in future.
